Mane’s brace helps Liverpool to 500th PL win

Liverpool began their Premier League campaign in a brilliant manner as they breezed past West Ham 4-0 at Anfield

A brace from Sadio Mane and goals from Salah and Daniel Sturridge completed the rout for the Reds who recorded their 500th Premier League win.

Mohammed Salah opened the scoring for Klopp’s men by touching home Andy Robertson’s fizzing, low cross on 19 minutes, followed by Mane’s double.

The Senegalese bagged his first on the stroke of half-time before all-but securing victory with a smart shot on the turn on 53 minutes from what looked like an offside position.

West Ham offered little opposition to the Reds and Daniel Sturridge complicated their issues late on when he knocked home from a corner within seconds of appearing as a substitute.

It was the icing on the cake on what was close to a perfect afternoon for Klopp and Co as new boys, Alisson and Naby Keita both impressed.

The comfortable victory was the Merseysiders’ 500th of the Premier League era.

The Reds will visit Crystal Palace next Monday evening in confident mood after their win, while West Ham will need to go back to the drawing board before they host Bournemouth on Saturday.
