Manchester United have approached Leicester City over the sale of their defender Harry Maguire, according to Sky Sports.
With the transfer window set to close in a fortnight, The Red Devils are keen on making a swift move to strengthen their defence line. However, the Foxes are determined to hold on to one of their most prized assets before the campaign kicks off.
Sky Sports sources claim Manchester United value the player, who played a key role in England’s summer World Cup campaign, at around £65m.
Maguire,25 is set to return from holiday in the next few days and is understood to be keen to make the move to Old Trafford.
However, Leicester have already sold Riyad Mahrez to neighbours Man City, and reports are rife that Maguire will not be leaving this summer according to the top executives at the club.
Maguire won Leicester’s Player of the Year award after an outstanding first season at the club and still has four years left on his current deal, having joined from Hull for £17m last summer.
