Manchester City Vs West Brom Live Online Commentary

Pep Guardiola’s team increased their chances of top four finish hugely on Saturday as they win Leicester 2-1 at home turf after a controversially disallowed penalty for the Foxes. This leaves them with a home match against West Brom and a road game against Watford, and if they win both of them they will be guaranteed a top four place. The victory against Leicester made it six matches unbeaten in the Premier League for City. In all honesty the Champions League spot should have been wrapped up for them long ago, but multiple mistakes against smaller sides have dragged the saga on. At home Pep Guardiola hasn’t lost a league game since the start of December though, winning seven of the following 11 fixtures.

Meanwhile, the Baggies have enjoyed a largely successful campaign, but that has been spoiled by a very poor ending to the season. They lost 1-0 at home to newly crowned champions Chelsea on Friday evening and now they are winless in 7 matches. This leaves Tony Pulis’ team still in a decent 8th position. They have only 45 points to their name, which is the number of points 13th placed Watford earned last season. On the road the Baggies are without a victory in seven matches as well, and whilst they have drawn four of these only their 0-0 draw at Manchester United can be considered a particularly good result. Their losses include a 4-0 demolishing at Spurs, a 3-0 loss at Everton, and a 2-0 defeat to Watford. They have only scored in one of their last seven league matches as well.
