To let you know, Wayne Rooney is the country’s all-time leading goal-scorer with 53 goals to his record. The 33-year-old has clearly mentioned that there are zero chances of him reuniting with MLS. It’s confirmed that Rooney has bid farewell to MLS once and for all. After leaving his club Everton, he moved to DC United. He has already started training and moving on the field for his new team. Everything is settled for him as of now. So, for anyone who was still speculating about a miraculous reunition, please do not have any hopes.
Rooney has had a tremendous contribution too. When he joined MLS, it had one of the worst records. But, merely after joining for three months, he has his team making a complete return into the game. He alone has contributed 12 goals as a striker. He also assisted 21 of these precious goals in seven matches. So much so that Manchester United fans call his the return of “Old Trafford” as a sign of admiration.
There were many speculations that Wayne could help the club make a comeback with Jose Mourinho’s side already struggling to keep up a good strong frontline. And, as the frontline is not in form, this could be the best opportunity for the club. Many fans hoped that it was only Rooney that could take advantage of this situation. But, when approached by reporters on Wednesday’s England’s friendly with the USA at Wembley, he completely made clear that he is not moving back to Manchester. He said he is firm with his decision.
