Manchester United are in talks to sign Porto defender Diogo Dalot according to sources in Portugal.
United manager Mourinho has been in the hunt for a new defender with the future of Italian full-back Darmian Matteo up in the air. It’s understood the Portuguese boss wants a healthy rivalry for Antonio Valencia, hence, the need for a defensive cover.
Dalot, 19, made his first-team debut for Porto in February. However, his versatility has caught the attention of his compatriot and that may lead to his exit from Estadio do Dragao.
Porto has placed a release clause of £17.3m for the signature of the youngster who’s in top demand in Europe.
Dalot featured in the Champions League knockout stages last season against Liverpool where he played out of position but couldn’t help his side stay in the competition.
The 19-year-old is a product of Porto academy and was part of the Portuguese side that won the Euro U-17 in 2016.
