Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan is closing in on a move to Serie A side Cagliari according to latest reports in Italy.
Both clubs are in advanced talks to wrap up the deal for the Estonian skipper who is in the final year of his contract at the club.
It’s believed the Serie A club will pay £2m for the 32-year-old defender who joined Liverpool from Bundesliga club Augsburg in the summer of 2016.
Klavan has never established himself as a first-choice at Liverpool but has made more than 50 appearances since his move.
He currently owns the record as the first ever Estonian to score a Premier League goal when he got the winner against Burnley earlier this year.
However, he has failed to stake a claim in Klopp’s starting eleven, slipping down the pecking order since Virgil van Dijk joined from Southampton.
The Estonian center-back is in search of first team action and a move to Cagliari could provide that option.
