Robert Lewandowski was in sensational form for Bayern Munich as he scored a hat-trick in their 5-0 triumph against Eintracht Frankfurt to retain the German Super Cup
Lewandowski, 29, netted two first-half headers and completed the hat-trick with a stunning left-footed strike 10 minutes after the break.
Goals from Kingsley Coman and Thiago Alcantara completed the rout for the Bavarians to seal a 5-0 win.
The win was a soothing relief for the German champions who were humbled 3-1 by Frankfurt in last season’s German Cup final.
Lewandowski’s future at Bayern has been the subject of major speculation this summer, but manager Niko Kovac has said the club “certainly won’t let him leave.”
Bayern Munich will start their Bundesliga defence on 24 August when they host Hoffenheim.
Before that, they face Drochtersen/Assel in the German Cup on 18 August, while Frankfurt travel to Ulm in the same competition.
