Is Francis forward Karim Benzema is better than three times Ballon D’or winner Cristiano Ronaldo? Well, the former Barcelona defender Eric Abidal thinks so. He stated that Benzema is the most important player for Real Madrid right now. Despite being the least heralded member of the club’s forward line, which sees Bale and Ronaldo operate either side of him, Abidal is convinced of his importance. Have a look on what Abidal actually said about the these two giants of Real Madrid.
Eric Abidal: Karim Benzema is Real Madrid’s Best Player
Abidal told to Gol TV “Benzema is the man I’d sign from Madrid if I were at Barca because for me he is Madrid’s most important player right now. If you take Benzema away from Real Madrid then they would continue scoring goals but not as many as they do with Karim in the team.”
“He is a very complete player and other players will in Madrid when Karim is there. So yes, if I have to sign one person it would be him, and not just because he is my friend and my compatriot but because of his qualities.”
Abidal also spoke about the upcoming El Clasico which will be played on this Sunday at the home ground of Barcelona. The first leg of Real Madrid vs Barcelona came to an end with a 3–1 victory for Los Blancos, but now The Catalans are looking stronger and are still on the top of the table. About this next game he said
“I think it will finish 3–1 to Barca. I think Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez will each score, though I’d like Javier Mascherano to get a goal for the club. Barca are doing much better than at the start of the season, when they struggled a little bit. Now in 2015, everything’s looking impressive and hopefully that continues until the end of the season.”
So far in this season, The Frenchman Karim Benzema has scored total of 20 goals in 40 games for Real Madrid. While, his teammate Cristiano Ronaldo have netted 41 times so far in this season.
