Former Ballon d’Or winner Kaka believes that it’s time for someone else other than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to win the award
The former AC Milan and Real Madrid midfielder was the last player to have won the Ballon d’Or prize before the Ronaldo and Messi duopoly began in 2008.
Both players have now won football most prestigious individual accolade five times each and Kaka has now rather boldly suggested that it’s time for a new player to break the dominance.
Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Brazilian ace has even recommended two top candidates that could put an end to dominance established by Ronaldo and Messi.
“The man that makes things happen is Modric. He had amazing results, winning the UEFA Champions League for a third time and reaching the World Cup final.
“He’s the man that dominates the game. The other one is Mbappé, he’s really strong, and he has his whole career in front of him, which means he could dominate the game for years and years to come,” Kaká stated on AS.
