Juventus are saying goodbye to Gonzalo Higuain. The Serie A club terminated the Argentine international’s contract, and, according to reports, the former Napoli and Real Madrid man is planning to move to Florida.
While Inter Miami head coach Diego Alonso confirms that the footballer is closing in on a switch to Inter Miami, the Serie A side were left counting their losses. They said the decision resulted in a negative financial effect of around €18.3 million on the current fiscal year.
In 2016, Juve spent €90 million to sign the 32-year-old forward from Napoli, and, at that moment, it was the world’s third most expensive transfer. During the 2018–2019 season, Higuain was on loan at Milan and Chelsea, but in July of 2019, he came back to Juventus Stadium. However, the striker was quickly informed by new boss Andrea Pirlo that he was no longer needed at Juventus.
The Argentine ace is already in the USA to finalize his move to the American club.
