Juventus 2-1 Monaco: after dominant win Italians go into Champions League final

Tonight Mario Mandžukić and Dani Alves secured place to the team in the Champions League final. Juventus have shown very confident play and won Monaco with 4-1 on aggregate.

Juventus made it to the CL final without large struggling. Today was another routine match for Italian champions.

Monaco played very well in the season. They managed to displace Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City with excellent attacking football. But today Monaco was totally overwhelmed by Juventus.

Italians were determined since the very beginning. Gonzalo Higuaín and Mario Mandžukić made first attempts. The advantage was fully on the Italian side. Juventus continued to attack and for Monaco was nothing left but to defend themselves.

Despite the struggles of José Leonardo side, Mandzukic scored at the 33’. His header didn’t reach gates, but right after that he just lifted the rebound to the top of the net. It was as if Juventus was saying to rivals that they are only delaying the inevitable.

At 44’ Danijel Subasic unsuccessfully punched out a corner which fell to Dani Alves. He stroke perfectly into the corner before Subasic could react. At some point, Juventus Stadium went crazy.

After the break, Monaco started to push, determined to score and show everybody that they couldn’t leave the competition with nothing. Mbappe was the most annoying player for Juventus. He made a few good attempts, but Buffon has denied it. Finally, Moutinho burst in and rolled a pass to Mbappe who took the chance and sent the ball in past goalkeeper. Still, it was already the end for them.

Next Juventus will meet Roma on Sunday aiming for sixth Serie A title in a row. Don’t miss at Footballwood!
