Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his first hat-trick for LA Galaxy in a thrilling win over Orlando City.
The veteran Swedish striker took his goal tally to 15 goals in just 17 Major League Soccer appearances for the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Zlatan found the net three times after half-time, including twice in the space of four minutes, to see the Galaxy to victory from 3-2 behind at StubHub Center.
The former United striker’s intervention extended the club’s unbeaten sequence to nine matches, moving them up to third on the log.
You would have to go back to February 26 last year to recall the last time Ibrahimovic scored a hat-trick in Manchester United’s 3-0 UEFA Europa League win over Saint-Etienne.
Cristian Higuita opened the scoring for Orlando on 18 minutes, But Giovani dos Santos leveled for the hosts six minutes before the break.
Orlando regained their lead shortly before half-time when Kjestan’s cross from the right deflected off Galaxy defender Michael Ciani and into the net.
But after the break, it was the Zlatan show. He made it 2-2 on 47 minutes when his towering header from a Dos Santos cross from the left found the top corner.
However, Orlando regained their lead seven minutes later when Dom Dwyer headed in Mohamed El-Munir’s left-wing cross.
But Ibrahimovic came to the rescue once again with a thumping diving header to make it 3-3. And he completed his first MLS hat-trick, and secured the points, on 71 minutes, smashing home a half-volley following a weak defensive clearance.
Take a moment to enjoy Zlatan's hat-trick for @LAGalaxy 👏
