Gerrard agrees to become Rangers boss

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is set to become the new Rangers manager after accepting a three year deal in principle according to some sources in England.

The former Liverpool talisman is ready to replace Graeme Murty after reaching an agreement with the Rangers hierarchy on Thursday. It is understood Gerrard asked for assurances on transfer budget before agreeing to take the role.

Stevie G will step down from his role as the Academy manager of his beloved Liverpool FC to take up the position in Rangers.

Rangers director of football Mark Allen and head of scouting Andy Scoulding convinced Gerrard to take the plunge into management at Rangers.

The former England skipper retired in 2016 and joined the youth set-up at Anfield after rejecting the managerial offer at MK Dons.
