The Indian TV company Multi Screen Media Private Limited [MSML] got the telecast or broadcast rights of FIFA World Cup 2014 which will begin from 12 June 2014. Earlier this company was called as SET India Pvt. Ltd. This Television company still operates its channels under Sony Entertainment TV. MSML is operating some other channels in India which includes Sony SIX, AXN, Sony MIX, SET MAX, SAB TV, Sony Entertainment, SET Max, SAB TV, Sony Liv, Animax, SET PIX, Cartoon Network [Canada]. Telecast Channels of FIFA World Cup 2014 in India
Sony SIX will telecast all action of Brazil world cup 2014. MSML won rights of this upcoming world cup as well as of 2018 world cup & FIFA Under 17 world cup. The qualification games of this tournament were also telecast on same channel. The competition will begin from 12 June to 13 July 2014. The chief executive officer of MSML said “Considering the rise of youth interest in the sport, football fans in India can look forward to the best international football experience on SIX”. Sony SIX is also holding rights of UEFA EURO 2016, UEFA EURO 2016 Qualifying, FIFA World Cup 2018, FIFA Club World Cup, Scottish Premier League, LFC TV. Expected Earnings of MSML in this World Campaign
There are also some rumors about the purchase of broadcast rights. A person revealed, MSML bought these rights for upcoming FIFA tournaments for $90 million. That person did not wants to be named because he has not authority to reveal it. This figure could not be independently confirmed by Footballwood. The company expected that they could make revenue of Rs. 100 crore [$16 million] total with FIFA World Cup 2014.
