The Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid will be streamed for free on YouTube according to reports.
Popular British sports television channel “BT sport” have accepted to make the final of Europe’s premier competition available for all when the Reds confront Los Blancos in Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine on May 26.
The Europa League final between Atletico Madrid and Marseille on May 16 will also be shown for free.
The success story of last year’s Champions League final that attracted 6.5million viewers across all platforms has encouraged BT Sport to replicate the same feat this season. They are even expecting an increase this term considering the involvement of an English team.
The Broadcasters attested their Champions League viewing figures this season are already up by 47 percent. Apart from the YouTube channel, the finals will be shown on the BT website and app.
Pete Oliver, managing director of BT consumer, said: ‘To have Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League final is fantastic.’We have always said that we want to make top quality sport available to more people and so once again we will be making the UEFA Champions League final and the UEFA Europa League final available to all to watch online for free.’
The Reds are in the hunt for a sixth European crown while rivals Real Madrid are pushing for their third consecutive Champions League title. Fans are anticipating an exciting showdown between the two teams considering their style of play.
