The Spanish stopper, David de Gea is known to be one of the top performers of Manchester United throughout 8 years of a spell in the club. He has improved his reputation with a superb save in match of the 1-0 win over Young Boys.
It has been reported that he has been asking for a wage parity with Alexi Sanchez, the top earner from Red Devils. Sanchez had been left out in the Champions League match on Tuesday by Jose Mourinho and earns £350,000 on a weekly basis.
The Chile star has been a failure since he arrived from Arsenal in the month of January scoring only 4 goals. He is known to have arrived as a free transfer for the deal that made Henrikh Mkhitaryan go the opposite way. Since Manchester United paid no transfer fee, they had been able to justify paying him a significant amount of wage.
However, this decision is now coming back to haunt the chiefs of the club as De Gea plots in using this for his own benefit.
As per reports, the Spain International is open to remaining in Manchester United but wants a huge wage hike. The contract ends this summer and this will allow him to talk to the overseas club and might sign a pre-contract agreement. Negotiations regarding a new deal have been stalled and it leads to the speculation that the 28-year-old might leave for Paris St-Germain or Juventus.
