Czech Republic performance in the European Championship was a complete failure, they were at rock bottom off the group stage with 1 point. They lost to Spain and Turkey and were without a single win in the tournament. The only point they earned came from a 2-2 stalemate with Croatia in their second fixture. However Czech seem to have steadied the ship, as they did well to demolish Armenia 3-0 in a friendly match on Wednesday. Now they hope for a repeat of that performance in their fresh FIFA World Cup 2018 qualifying campaign.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland national team were a bit better than their host in the EURO 2016 this summer, they reached the knockout rounds. N. Ireland were among the best losers after the group stage, they lost 2 matches in the group stages against Germany and Poland. Their only win in the tournament was a 2-0 victory over Ukraine, but they lost 1-0 to future semi-finalist Wales in the 2nd round of the competition.
