The Russian side have made a gripping comeback in their debut fixture of the group round as they fought back from 2 goals down to level the scores against German side Bayer Leverkusen. All four goals were scored inside the first 40 minutes of the match as Ahmed Mehmedi and Hakan Calhanoglu put Bayer on front within 15 minutes. This was cancelled out by two quick goals in the 36th and 38th minute respectively by midfield duo Alan Dzagoev and Roman Eremenko. As for the injury update, CSKA are hoping to be injury-free for this fixture.

Meanwhile, Tottenham were bleak in the opening day 2-1 loss at home to Monaco. All the goals came in the first half, just like CSKA’s match. AS Monacoe rose to a 2-0 lead through Bernardo Silva and Thomas Lemar strikes in the 9th and 31st minute respectively. Then a central defender Toby Alderweireld goal reduced the French side lead just before half time break. Despite having the vast majority of possession in the second half, Mauricio Poccetino’s side failed to find a way through a resolute Monaco defense. As regards injury news, star forward Harry Kane is out until November, while midfielders Eric Dier and Moussa Dembele are expected to be back on Tuesday.
