Philippe Coutinho has been handed the sought after number 7 shirt at Barcelona, having worn the number 14 since he joined from Liverpool in January
The prestigious No 7 shirt, was previously worn by the likes of Luis Figo, David Villa, and Henrik Larsson. The jersey was recently vacated by Arda Turan who completed a move to Istanbul Basaksehir.
The Brazilian equally wore the No 7 shirt in his final season at Inter Milan before completing a move to Liverpool in 2013. He wore the No 10 shirt with distinction at Anfield. Ex-Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane was awarded the number 10 shirt for the 2018/19.
The 26-year-old Brazil playmaker joined the Spanish Champions in January for a staggering £145million, and he made an instant impact at the Nou Camp, netting ten goals in 22 games in the second half of last season.
Coutinho was equally in scintillating form at the World Cup, scoring twice for Brazil before losing out to eventual third place winners Belgium in the quarter-finals.
Charly Rexach is the legendary Barcelona winger popularly associated with the No 7 shirt. He went on to make over 300 appearances for the club in the 60s, 70s and early 80s.
