Crystal Palace have started negotiations with several footballers over new contracts, including Christian Benteke. The Belgian international is one of the multiple players at Selhurst Park who can leave for free in the summer of 2021.
The 29-year-old, who is yet to start a game this campaign, signed a one-year extension last year in order to prevent him from leaving for free. According to reports, the Premier League club has been offered him another contract renewal. At the same time, the striker has also generated interest from other sides.
Christian Benteke, one of Palace’s best earners, feels happy at Selhurst Park but could leave on a free transfer if the talks with the Eagles fail. Having moved to Palace in 2016, the former Aston Villa man enjoyed a great start to his Selhurst Park journey. However, his form has tailed off a bit in recent seasons, meaning that his future remains to be seen.
