Chelsea is going to take strong action if it is proven that some of there have abused Raheem Sterling during the home game on Saturday against Manchester City. The London club had suspended 4 fans while they investigated into the reported racist abuse towards Sterling are still continuing. They have also mentioned that they will support criminal investigations if required.
A television showed that a group of home supporters had been screaming abuse. According to reports, it was pretty racist in nature at Sterling while he was retrieving the ball from the back area of the goal.
A statement published in the official website of Chelsea stated that the football club suspended 4 people and they will be barred from attending any matches of Chelsea until further investigations into the allegation about the behavior of the supporters during the match towards Raheem Sterling.
The Chelsea Football Club has said that investigations are still going on. They are supporting the police investigation and if they receive any information, they will surely pass it on to them. The club finds all kinds of discriminatory behavior abhorrent and in case there is evidence of the ticket holders being involved in the racist behavior, the club is going to issue some serious sanctions that include the ban.
Manchester City has also issued a statement as a reaction and they have welcomed the announcement that they, as well as Sterling, are helping out with the inquiries of the police.
