Chelsea in crunch talks for Juve duo

Chelsea top executives are ready to meet their Juventus counterparts in the bid to finalize the deal for Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani.

The Blues are ready to offload striker Alvaro Morata after failing to impress in his debut season. And reports in Italy suggest the Old ladies are keen on a swap deal if they are to let the Argentine striker go.

Another player on the agenda for the Premier League side is Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino who currently plays for Inter Milan.

Both clubs will trade tackles later today in Nice, and it is understood chiefs from both clubs will speak about the 26-year-old who is tipped to cost up to 40million euros (£35m).

Higuain and Vecino have both worked under Maurizio Sarri, and the Londoners are keen on reuniting the duo with the Italian manager.

Sarri is also ready to hand Eden Hazard the Blues captaincy in a bid to stave off interest coming from European Champions Real Madrid.

Hazard has been a top transfer target of Real Madrid’s for some time, but Chelsea doesn’t want to let him go.

Meanwhile, La Liga side Valencia have shown an interest in signing Michy Batshuayi.
