Real Madrid & Spain goalkeeper, Iker Casillas is the captain of national team for this upcoming world cup. Casillas took the responsibility of captain in 2006 as a goalkeeper. So far he conceded 83 goals total after playing 153 games but it doesn’t matters a lot when a player helps his team to win 3 big football tournaments. Iker Casillas is currently playing for Spanish club Real Madrid which is also the first club of him. In last world which was organized in South Africa, Iker not only played a crucial role as a captain, but he played a vital role as a goalkeeper. He conceded just 2 goals in last world cup in whole tournament. Iker Casillas also played for Under 15, 16, 17, 18, 20 & 21 in 1996, 1996–1998, 1997–1999, 1999, 1999–2000 respectively. He is the most capped player of Spanish national football team. He was part of the roster for the 2002 World Cup, initially as the understudy to Santiago Canizares. Coincidentally, he became the first choice goalkeeper when Canizares had to withdraw from the tournament due to injury form a freak accident. When he was 21 years old, he was one of the youngest first choice goalkeeper in the tournament. He has huge credit behind the success of Spain football. One of his save during the quarter finals of 2002 FIFA World Cup against South Korea, his save was rated as one of the top 10 saves of all time by FIFA. During world cup when he saved 2 penalties against Republic of Ireland in round of 16 game. With these saves, he earned “The Saint”.

In his whole career, Casillas won 5 domestic league la Liga titles so far. The captain of Real Madrid also lifted Copa del Rey trophy second time after defeating their toughest Spanish rivals Barcelona by 2–1 in 2014. As the Viking, he won 15 titles in which 2 UEFA Champions league titles & 1 UEFA Super cup is also included. All major trophies that Spain had won only under his captaincy. So it would be not wrong to say that he is one of the best captain of the whole world.
