Liverpool’s forward Roberto Firmino has committed his future to the club by signing a new deal at Melwood on Sunday.
The Brazilian striker was quick to admit it was an easy decision to extend his stay. He went further to comment:“The club has taken me in in an incredible way, and I’ve grown a lot here with my work with the support of the whole team. I am very, very happy here.
“Everything fits in the best possible way. My teammates are fantastic, and I am very grateful to be able to play with them at this club.
“I love to play for Liverpool FC. The fans are excellent and fantastic in how they support us all the way. They support us throughout the games and the work they do during the match is beautiful.”
Widely known as Bobby Firmino by the Red’s army, the player made the switch from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in 2015 during the reign of Brendan Rodgers. He has racked up 140 appearances and scored 50 goals for the Reds.
The Brazilian who is noted for his high pressing in games has formed a formidable front trio with Salah and Mane to fire Liverpool to the semi-finals of the Champions League. He’s currently enjoying one of his finest campaigns in a Red’s shirt having scored 27 goals in 50 games.
Liverpool fans will be hoping he celebrates his new deal with a goal at the Stadio Olimpico as they aim to cement a spot in the Final of the Champions League on Wednesday night.
