David Alaba’s future seems to be uncertain after Bayern Munich decided to stop negotiations on a new contract.
The Bayern Munich’s president stated the Bavarian side have revoked their offer of a new contract for the 28-year-old player after he rejected their latest bid.
The Austrian international, who has played for Bayern since 2008, expects that his current contract runs out in 2021. According to reports, the talks had been held for several months, particularly because of the player’s annual salary.
Bayern president Herbert Hainer said they contacted Alaba and his representative some time ago with a really good offer and set a deadline at the end of October. As the footballer and his advisor refused to accept the conditions, the Bundesliga club chose to take the offer completely off the table.
David Alaba, who can perform both as a central defender or full-back, has got two Uefa Champions League titles with the side as well as six German Cups and nine league titles.
