Barcelona to sue Neymar for £8m over world record move

After the world record 222m euro move to PSG Barcelona are suing Neymar. They want him to return a renewal bonus which was paid after resigning the five-year-contract.

Club wants to return the paid sum, as he didn’t complete the terms of the contract. Besides £8m, Barcelona demands an additional 10% charge as a delayed payment. And if the player can’t take the responsibility for prosecution the club (PSG) should replace him and pay all the sum.

After his debut on Sunday, Neymar criticized the heads of Barca: ”It was the beautiful four years in Barcelona and I parted happily. But with chiefs, no. They are not the people who should be there. Barca deserves much better”.

Neymar scored twice in the game vs Toulouse and it seems he’s in the good shape. Hope the lawsuit won’t ruin his mood in following games.

As for Barca, the statement can negatively affect the reputation of the club. Suing their former player who spent four years in the squad is too harsh even for them. Especially when they’re looking for new players to sign.
