Barcelona failed in their efforts to sign Eric Garcia during the summer transfer window, with Man City refused to relax their demands for the footballer’s signature. The 19-year-old player still hopes to return to his boyhood team. He doesn’t want to extend his presence at the Etihad while his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Catalan giants are planning to sign Garcia again in January, but it won’t be easy. The Spanish club have to offload several players to be able to invite the centre back to the Camp Nou. Furthermore, according to reports, Barca have chosen no less than four footballers they could offload during the winter transfer window to collect funds.
Carles Alena, Junior Firpo, Martin Braithwaite, and Samuel Umtiti are among the players the La Liga side are ready to cash in on in January. Man City knocked back offers from the Spanish club for Garcia in summer, and it remains unclear whether they will accept the deal in January.
