Right now, there are five owners of this club. The former Indian cricketer captain Sourav Ganguly along with Harshvardhan Neotia, Sanjiv Goenka, Utsav Parekh & Atletico Madrid are the leading owners. During bidding of ISL club, the Spanish club took interest in Indian Super league & satisfied to support the new Indian football club. Atletico Madrid is one of the best football club that have won La Liga 11 times, Copa del Rey 10 times. Also, the club is 3 times Copa Eva Duarte & 1 time Supercopa de Espana champions. In 2010 & 2012 they won Europa League & were the runners up of UEFA Champions League.

Salt Lake, the Home Ground of Club

Home ground of Kolkata Football Club Salt Lake, India’s largest & world’s second largest stadium in terms of seating capacity is the home ground of Atletico de Kolkata. This stadium is known for having audience capacity of 1,20,000 spectators. It is a multipurpose ground which organizes ceremonies of Indian premier league & other major events. Salt Lake stadium was opened in 1984 for all purposes. The Indian football Association is the owner of this stadium. Earlier, it was home ground of Mohun Bagan A.C. & East Bengal F.C. Now, it is home ground of this new club also along with last two. The stadium organized some big games which include match of Argentina & Venezuela on 2nd September 2011. Only one goal was scored on that day by the Argentine Nicolas Otamendi in 67th minute. First Indian football club i.e. Mohun Bagan played a friendly match against German club Bayern Munich. The Bavarians won with a clean sheet of 3–0 against Mohun B.
