World Cup 2010 Golden Ball Winner Diego Forlan linked with Indian super League team Atletico De Kolkata
The first ever champions of Indian Super League, Atletico De Kolkata are desperate to have Uruguayan star forward Diego Forlan. He is currently playing for Japanese club Cerezo Osaka that he joined on 22 January 2014. Forlan signed an 18th month contract with Cerezo Osaka with J. League Divsion 1 team.
The Indian club wants to fill the vacant space of their former striker Fikru Teferra. The Ethiopian footballer have joined Bidvest wits this year which means he is no longer ATK player.
Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly and Atletico Madrid owned ISL club will be now looking for a star striker who can easily fit into the marquee player role and be a big asset for Indian Super League.
There is one more player who is linked with this club and the player is Brazilian Ricardo Kaka. This signing would be probably hard for the Indian club as Kaka just started for his new club Orlando City.
Diego Forlan played for Atletico Madrid from 2007 to 2011, scored 74 goals in 134 games. At the Spanish club, he won two Pichichi award [first with Villarreal and second with Atletico Madrid]. The player also lifted the trophy of 2010 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball.
