Arsene Wenger saw Raheem Sterling diving for the penalty, which gave Man City their second goal. According to his opinion, that was the third thing to be considered as a violation.

“I think Referees do not work enough”, told Arsenal’ manager in the postmatch interview. “The level drops with every season and it is unacceptable these days”.

Referee Michael Oliver gave to City a penalty after Nacho Monreal challenging with Sterling. Aguero scored at 50’ and Alexandre Lacazette pulled one back for 2-1 at 65’. Then 10 minutes later Gabriel Jesus sealed the victory. Still, Wenger thinks he with David Silva should have been considered as offside.

“We all know Raheem Sterling can dive well. There wasn’t penalty at all. The third goal was offside and I am very upset about that. That goal was a killer, and by coincidences, all mistakes go for the home team as we know. When City winning this way it is unacceptable”, argued Wenger.

As for winners, they got ninth successive league victory, which is the club record. In turn, Pep Guardiola refused to discuss referee decisions.

“We won in the best way. Sometimes it is like this”, told Man City’ coach. “They told me it was offside. Of course, I do not want such victories. However, earlier in this season Arsenal have won over Burnley with a handball at the 96th”, added Josep Guardiola.
