The return of Edu, their ex-midfielder has been already confirmed by Arsenal. The ex-player has been granted the position of their technical director.
Earlier he was the general coordinator to Brazil and that resulted in taking the Copa America. However, Brazil have made up their mind to appoint the ex- Middlesbrough midfielder, Juninho to that post, thus making Edu resign.
As the club informed, he’d be in charge of coordinating the academy, the first-team coaching group, recruitment, and scouting. On Thursday, Edu will leave for America busy with the FC’s pre-season tour.
Raúl Sanllehí, the club’s head of football depicted Edu as a 100% Arsenal man. He added that Edu’s arrival happens to be the final and very crucial part of the upcoming changes in the club. Edu is expected to collaborate with Unai Emery as well as the club’s key coaches. Raúl Sanllehí expressed a hoped that the newly-returned technical director will get along with their philosophy.
Edu is anticipated to resolve the recruitment issue against the backdrop of the reduced budget.
