Manchester United forward Anthony Martial could swap Manchester United for Juventus this summer according to reports from Italian news outlet Premium Sport.
The France international has failed to hold down a regular starting berth under Jose Mourinho despite a few good spells in the side, hence Juventus views the 22-year-old’s plight as an opportunity to bolster their ranks ahead of next season in a bid to increase the gulf in quality that currently exists between them and the rest of the Serie A.
Martial has reportedly sent his agent, Neilo Lucas to hold talks with Juventus over a possible move when the season draws to a close as his limited playing time at Manchester United, coupled with Jose Mourinho’s tactical philosophy has hampered his development as a footballer.
Martial has made 26 Premier League appearances thus far this season scoring nine league goals and registering five assists, with ten of his appearances being from the bench.
He’s been kept out of the side by Alexis Sanchez in recent weeks following the Chilean’s move to Manchester United from Arsenal during the January transfer window.
With Sanchez being Mourinho’s preferred option on the left flank, Martial’s decision to opt for a move away from Old Trafford is understandable but it remains to be seen whether Manchester United will be willing to let the talented French forward go.
Manchester United currently sit in second place in the Premier League standings having garnered 65 points this term, 16 points away from league leaders and rivals Manchester City.
