Another injury in Manchester United: Luke Shaw to miss the rest of the season

Man United left-back Luke Shaw got a ligament injury, which took him out for the rest of the season.

England defender left the pitch on Sunday right after the ninth minute in the match against Swansea. After a scan medical specialist said, that Shaw has some serious ligament damage. And Jose Mourinho confirmed at Wednesday that player is took off until the end of the season.

Man United’s coach said at the press conference: “Shaw got a serious injury and we are waiting for one more opinion from medical specialists to decide what to do. Still, he’s out for the season”.

Manchester United have maximum seven games in the season and could reach Europa League final. Their next game will be against Celta Vigo in the Europa League semi-final first leg on Thursday.

However, Mourinho also confirmed that trio Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Paul Pogba are available for next game. Furthermore, centre-back Eric Bailly, who also had to leave the pitch on Sunday, didn’t get important injuries and he is in contention right now.

“Smalling, Jones, and Pogba are back. It’s very important due to the Europa League. We have two important matches on the week, so they came back on time. It makes not really differences in relation to Premier League because we had too many absences and some problems. So now we’ll try to focus on Europa League”, added Jose Mourinho.
