Atletico Madrid finished last season at the third place just behind such giants as FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. Their main man Diego Simeone will still be the team’s manager as he is about to start his sixth season with Los Colchoneros. The Argentine manager strengthened the squad as he signed forwards Hector Hernandez, Kévin Gameiro and Bernard Mensah also purchased fantastic compatriot Nicolas Gaitan from Benfica. They bought a couple of young defenders as well: Emiliano Velázquez, Javier Manquillo and Sime Vrsaljko. Meantime, Alaves got the promotion to La Liga through winning Segunda Division title last season. This coming season the team will be coached by a new manager Mauricio Pellegrin, who was signed last June after being fired from Atletico Independiente. Alaves also has made several transfers, the most noteworthy of them are strikers Christian Santos and Deyverson, and midfielders Nenad Krstičić and Ibai Gomez.
