Toronto FC are in excellent position to claim the MLS Eastern Conference’s top spot, but they still have a work to do if they are to push for the MLS Supporters Shield. They are top of the Eastern Conference, but Western Conference leaders FC Dallas have a five point lead over them, and it’s not just them either. LA Galaxy are a point ahead of them and Colorado Rapids are level on points but also have a game in reserve.

Meanwhile, New York Red Bulls aren’t exactly in poor form though. They have fully recovered from a really terrible start to the season which saw them lose six of their opening seven fixtures. Since then they have only lost three more times in all tournaments, and their CONCACAF Champions League 1-0 victory over Alianza on Thursday night made it 15 matches undefeated in all competitions for them. If they can get a win on Sunday they would move themselves to the top of the MLS Eastern Conference and keep their hopes of keeping the MLS Supporters Shield alive, but it will be tough against Toronto FC.

Toronto FC Vs New York Red Bulls: Head-to-Head stats

New York Red Bulls have won four, drawn one, and lost two of their last seven meetings with Toronto FC.
