The Saints had struggled at the start of the new Premier League campaign as they are winless after four competitive domestic fixtures. A change of head-coach and depatrure of key players like Graziano Pelle, Sadio Mane and Victor Wanyama have a bad effect on team’s performance so far. But there will be no shortage of excitement at the Stadium of Light on Thursday night as Southampton are set to play their first ever game in the UEFA Europa League. They reached the final round of qualifying play-off stage last season, before they were knocked out by Danish side FC Midtjylland.

On the other hand, The Czech side  had decent runs in the Europa League in recent seasons. They have made it to the play-off stages in three of the last four seasons. Sparta Prague reached the quarter finals in the last season and were eliminated after losing to Spanish La Liga club Villarreal on both legs. This haven’t had the easiest of ties in the play-off this term. The Danish club SonderjyskE Fodbold held them to a 0-0 stalemate in Denmark and were at the verge of exit after the visitors took an early 2 goal lead in Prague. However, they fought back to overturn the deficit and earn a 3-2 win to guarantee their ticket at the group stage of the tournament.
