After finishing in the 6th place in the Italian Serie A last season Sassuolo surprised everyone for sure. And it looks they are unwilling to take the feet of the pedal and started their Europa League road in style. Goals from Domenico Berardi, Matteo Politano and Gregoire Defrel got Sassuolo a commanding lead prior the away match against Red Star in Belgrade. Sassuolo will be without midfielders Simone Missiroli and Lorenzo Pellegrini as both are out injured.

Meantime, Red Star Belgrade are nowhere near as dominant as they were in the past years. Crvena Zvezda famously won the Champions League in 1991 but this season find themselves once again knocked out before the group stage, a round they haven’t achieved since the 2007/08 season. Despite their depressing performances in Europe, the Serbian SuperLiga reigning champions already played six games into their domestic campaing and look decent. Red Star won five and drew once in their first six matches, and they are top of the table with three points above 2nd placed Vojvodina. Crvena Zvezda don’t have any new injuries to their squad.

Red Star Belgrade Vs Sassuolo: Head-to-Head Stats
