The Crowned Ligue 1 champions have lost already this term when they went down 3-1 against Monaco in their last fixture. They also have a difficult Champions League match against Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal next week which follows this match. But for now all eyes will be on the Les Parisiennes and how they can settle into shape. They have of course lost centre-back David Luiz to Chelsea but head-coach Unai Emery was set in his mind before the transfer that Brazilian was not going to be part of PSG’s future plans anyway. Before the defeat at Monaco the club had kept clean sheets in their two opening games of the domestic season and the focus here will be to put in a professional job.

Meantime, St Etienne have won 1 drawn 1 and lost 1 since the beginning of the Ligue 1 season. The good news is that they have gone the last two games undefeated although their last game was seen as a frustration as they settled for a goalless draw with Toulouse at home.
