Atletico de Kolkata and Delhi Dynamos have both made great starts to their 2016 Indian Super League season, and remain the only two undefeated sides going into their head to head battle this weekend. However, both sides have only won one out of their first four games, it is interesting, as both registering fantastic road victories to teams from southern India. Atletico are notoriously slow starters in the early part of the season, and are also yet to register a win either against Delhi in Indian Super League history or at Rabindra Sarobar Stadium, their new home field. The fitness of their key player – Portuguese forward Helder Postiga remains suspect, and they would be hoping that Iain Hume can start scoring some goals and surpass Stiven Mendoza as all-time top scorer in the process.

Meanwhile, Delhi Dynamos showed tremendous perseverance in coming back from a 3-1 deficit at home to snatch a 3-3 draw against Mumbai City in their last match, and history favours them when playing Atletico de Kolkata, both home and away. They have drawn both matches at home, and in their two trips to Kolkata, they came away with a 1-1 draw in 2014 and had a 90th minute Gustavo Dos Santos winner last October. Both teams know the importance of winning more matches than drawing — Delhi missed out on the playoffs in 2014 by just one point that separated them from both Kolkata and Kerala Blasters — and would be keen to ensure maximum points from this match.
