This season didn’t look like it would go any better as they fell to a breathtaking 4-3 home loss to Liverpool in their opening game of the season. However, they have managed to bounce back from that very early failure. Arsene Wenger’s side followed their opening day defeat with a 0-0 stalemate at Premier League champions Leicester but then managed back-to-back victories against Southampton and Watford. Their UEFA Champions League opener saw them settle to a 1-1 draw at the Parc des Princes against PSG, and a persuasive 4-1 demolition of Hull City followed in the Premier League. They maintained their undefeated run with a 4-0 sweeping of Nottingham Forest in the midweek EFL Cup fixture, with new signing striker Lucas Perez getting his first goal for Arsenal. As for team news, Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud are both expected back on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Chelsea were also in action in the League Cup this midweek, with them travelling to reigning Premier League champions Leicester City and going two goals down in the first half. However, a late first half goal from centre defender Gary Cahill sent them into the break in good moods, and they came out to score an equaliser through left-back Cesar Azpilicueta. The game was then taken to extra time, and Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas netted a brace early on to win the visitors the match. As regards injury update, long-term absentee centre-back Kurt Zouma are still recovering from knee injury, while the skipper John Terry is hoping to return into the squad.
